What Should I Be Doing Now...for Seniors

As a school counselor, one of the things that I'm asked most often is, "what should I be doing right now"?  I found this helpful calendar on mappingyourfuture.org. It's been slightly adapted.
  • Do you know what you want to do after you graduate? If not, stop by and visit with me.  I have interest inventories and career assessments that can help you in answering that question.
  • Save money from your job for college/post-secondary school
  • List your top college choices, then request school catalogs and admissions information.
  • Visit with college representatives when they visit North Platte.
  • Visit the colleges you are interested in.
  • Have you taken the ACT? If not, or if you want to take it again go HERE for test dates and to register.
  • Compare the costs of the schools you're interested in.  Go HERE for a helpful comparison tool. It looks like this:

  • Visit and register on Fastweb for information about scholarships, colleges, and financial aid resources.

  • There's your "to do" list for August. More tips to come later.

Best wishes for a wonderful senior year,
    Mrs. Justus
